5 tips for healthy eating

Having a healthy and balanced diet benefits you more than it seems. What you consume in a day affects your body’s ability and functioning. Plus,  if you do not follow a healthy and balanced diet, it may lead to several health problems from a very young age, like heart disease, obesity and many more. Our body needs different ingredients for better functioning, that too in the right proportion.  Your diet depends on various factors such as age and how active you are. If you follow these 5 tips for healthy eating, it will surely benefit you.

Eat more fruits and vegetables 

Fruits and vegetables are rich in numerous ingredients. According to health specialists, if you consume at least 5 portions of different varieties of fruits and vegetables every day, it will benefit you majorly. 

You can eat them fresh, dried, juiced, frozen or canned. You can also consume them with different foods, like milk, bread, rice or anything you prefer. 

Consume variety of food 

The human body is highly complicated and to keep it healthy, you can’t just restrict your food consumption. That’s why, it’s recommended that you should consume a variety of food. As we know, no single food contains all the nutrients that your body requires. So, by eating a variety of food, your body will get all the nutrients it needs and you will enjoy eating as well. 

Make sure you mix the right combination of food and add mostly fresh food in your balanced diet.  

Reduce certain fats and oil from diet 

Fat is obviously necessary for the human body but that doesn’t mean of any kind and in an excessive manner. Because if you did, then it will lead to numerous health problems such as obesity and heart diseases. 

So, decrease the consumption of industrial produced trans fat as it is most hazardous for health. If possible, eliminate it from your diet.  

Eliminate consumption of saturated fat and sugar 

There are two types of fat: saturated and unsaturated. Consuming too much saturated fat can be very bad for your health. So, make sure you avoid eating too much butter, sausages,  hard cheese, fatty cuts of meat, cakes and more.  

 

In the case of sugar, regular consumption of high sugar in your food can lead to tooth decay, obesity and other health problems. So, it’s advised to avoid consumption of free sugar which is found in cakes, sugary fizzy drinks, alcohols, sweets, biscuits and many more. 

Also,  avoid packaged food and drinks as they contain a high amount of free sugar.  

Reduce consumption of salts 

Eating anything in an excessive amount can lead to numerous health problems. Like, if you consume more salts than its requirements in your body, then it will lead to high blood pressure and various heart diseases. 

So, do not consume more than 6g of salt in a day as an adult.
